San Pedro del Pinatar is a popular sea-side town situated on the edge of the Mar Menor which is an inland sea/lagoon. The waters of the Mar Menor are shallow and clear and is perfect for safe swimming and related activities.
In nearby Lo Pagan, you’ll find the therapeutic mud lakes (good for the skin and aches and pains, and free!), a marina, and of course access to further beaches of the meditteranean. The area is part of the Costa Calida, just South of the Costa Blanca.
The town itself is served by all the amenities you can think of including numerous bars and restaurants. It is popular with both holidaymakers, and of course many have chosen San Pedro as their permanent home and as such is served well by supermarkets, schools and public transport.
The main beach is Playa Villananitos which is a large beach with a pleasant paseo or promenade lined with palm trees.
The nearest airport is now Murcia airport (Corvera) which took over the one at San Javier in recent years.
